  • Fantastic Year

    Last morning at the office for this year and you can't help but reflect over the past year. All the staff are meeting up at lunchtime for a meal and then a few drinks which is always good fun, even if you do suffer for it the next day!

    All in all it's been really good for us, very busy on all fronts. The end to the year exceeded all expectations and proves the trips to China are very worthwhile.

    We have many new projects on the go in 2013 and I am really excited about some of them, one or two are very groundbreaking.

    I am so looking forward to the Christmas break and I am really looking forward to spending time with Katie. Lisa is off to China instead of me this time on 27th December for 12 nights, so it will be just Katie and I for New Year.

  • Back in Glasgow after Holidays

    Well I am now back in Glasgow after two amazing holidays. Lisa has to take the whole of July off every year as she works in an orchestra, so we have to take our main holidays then.

    I was in Budapest for 11 days at the beginning of July, it's a city my wife and I really love. It is where we got engaged in 2008. We rented a fantastic studio from a company that supplies very lovely properties in Hungary. You can find them at www.hiphomeshungary.com. The sun was shining and the average temp was about 32 degrees.

    Our second break was in Honfleur in Normandy for four nights at the end of July. It was four days and nights of amazing food. Honfluer was full of tourists but is definitely worth a visit.

    Now it's back to work but I'm really pleased that all our companies are really busy at the moment.

    Welcome to my blog!

    My name is Simon Rourke, I live in Glasgow and I am married to Lisa. I am the Chairman of Really Distinct Group Ltd, we own and operate a number of companies in Glasgow and throughout Scotland.

    This is my personal blog and somewhere for me to express what is happening in my personal life and maybe vent the odd frustration in relation to my working life too!
